Gibson Art Projects proudly presents Richard and Camilla Shaffer: Tout et Rien. The artists exude a contagious passion for their processes and the stories they tell through their art. Join us as we celebrate this joyous day and the aspirational love these two share between one another and with their audience.

Artist Statement: THE ESSENTIAL IS INVISIBLE TO THE EYE, suggesting that the true reality of this Universe is hidden underneath the world of "things" that populate it. Free associations, a syntax of meaning, and those assumptions about Nature all call us to review the visual presentation. The Buddhist view is that there is both Everything and Nothing, coexisting and without contradiction; each of us is called forth to view our own realities, make our own conclusions, and live a life as we must. The exhibition, TOUT ET RIEN, is a mixed media attempt to examine such a life, together, given by two visual artists who found that rarest love, commitment, and reverence for these expressions.

There is no short cut; all the stuff of life is included. After decades of thinking, seeing, and making, this exhibition is an invitation to evoke a real possibility of a clear position:

WE OURSELVES ARE THOSE THINGS IN THEMSELVES, AND THE STORIES ARE TOLD FROM A DESIRE FOR DISCLOSING, RECAPTURING, AND THEN RELEASING THAT MOST SINGULAR DEVOTION.
